AGRA DAY EXPERIENCE: From Royal Forts to the Eternal Taj

Over view:
The Taj Mahal is one of the world's most recognisable monuments. But standing in front of it is only the beginning of the story.
With The Roots, your day in Agra moves beyond photographs and facts. Accompanied by a local Storyteller, you'll explore the world of the Mughals — their ambition, architecture, family dramas, craftsmanship, food and extraordinary obsession with beauty.
Begin with the Taj Mahal, when the light is still soft and the monument has a very different atmosphere from the crowded postcard version.
Then move into Agra Fort, the imperial city from which Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan ruled. Here the story changes from romance to power — palaces, politics, imprisonment and the extraordinary evolution of Mughal architecture.
After a relaxed local lunch, the afternoon introduces another side of Agra — its living traditions and craftsmanship.
