Overview:
Experience the soul of Amritsar on this immersive day tour guided by our local Roots Storyteller. This journey moves through faith, memory, heritage, food and the everyday life of Punjab's spiritual capital. From the serenity of the Golden Temple to the solemn history of Jallianwala Bagh and Partition, through the flavours of a Punjabi lunch and into the lived-in lanes of the old city, it promises to be a day that stays with you long after you leave — something felt, not just seen.
About the Experience:
Designed for foreign travellers, NRIs and expats living in India, this experience blends faith, history, food and living heritage into a single day with a local Roots Storyteller. Begin with a respectful morning at Sri Harmandir Sahib, the Golden Temple, then move through remembrance at Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum, before slowing down over a relaxed Punjabi lunch and an exploration of Old Amritsar's markets, lanes and craft traditions. With a preferred group size of 2 to 6 guests, the day is shaped around your interests, mobility, dietary requirements and onward travel.

6 Reasons to Experience Amritsar with The Roots:
-
Faith With Context: Sri Harmandir Sahib (the Golden Temple) is experienced as a living institution, not simply a monument, with insight into Sikh principles of equality, seva and community.
-
History Through People: Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum are approached through remembrance and personal stories rather than spectacle, giving deeper meaning to the history.
-
Taste the Punjab: A relaxed Punjabi lunch becomes part of the cultural narrative of the day, not just a meal break.
-
Beyond the Monuments: Move past the principal landmarks into the streets, markets and living heritage of Old Amritsar.
-
Your Own Storyteller: A local Roots Storyteller adapts the conversation and pace of the day around you.
-
Small & Personal: A preferred group size of 2–6 guests leaves room for questions, reflection and flexibility throughout the day.

Cover your head with a scarf, cap or handkerchief before entering the Golden Temple complex — these are also available on-site if needed.
-
Remove your footwear and wash your feet at the designated area before entering the temple premises.

Carry a valid ID at all times, especially for the Wagah / Attari Border security checks.
